Fancy a winter warmer?
I’m a tea person through and through, and this winter I am becoming a little obsessed with chai tea lattes. I find myself ordering them whenever I am at a cafe and wanted to recreate my own version at home. So I bought some chai tea bags for Teapigs and had a go at brewing some tea. I was really surprised at how easy it was to make and love how you can add extra flavourings such as honey and spices depending on the taste you like. Here’s what I did…
Using a Teapigs chai tea bag, I brewed about a third of a cup of tea for 3 minutes before adding hot, frothed up milk right up to the top of the cup. I used the milk frother attached to my DeLongi coffee machine to heat up and foam the milk but you can always use the microwave and a small whisk for this too. To finish off my winter warmer, I added a squeeze of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for a little sweetness.
The best bit about this drink is the amount of variations you can make to this recipe. From using almond milk for a nuttier taste to adding different spices such as ginger or nutmeg for a festive scent. I love being creative with recipes and this chai latte is super easy and fun to make, Ill definitely be making more of these over the coming winter months.
Will you be making this festive winter warmer?
I hope you have enjoyed this quick and easy chai tea latte recipe as much as I did making it.
